Woodbine
Farm Alpacas
Woodbine
Farm Alpacas is situated on the
Norfolk/Suffolk border, 8 miles from Diss. We
moved to Woodbine Farm in September 2007 to set
up our alpaca
business on 15 acres of beautiful Suffolk
countryside, overlooking the Waveney Valley. Not
only are we building up our Alpaca
business but also renovating our 17th
Century farmhouse. As the animals
always come first this has
meant that the improvements on the house have been quite slow and we
are still
living in two rooms while the rest of the house is being done.
Our
herd has now grown to 18 (11 females and 7 males),
through purchasing from a range of Alpaca breeders, including Azsu
Alpacas, Dry
Drayton Alpacas and Morden Hall Alpacas. We
have recently acquired, in association with
Morden Hall Alpacas, a stud
male – Zarza Marley
Rizardo II – and look
forward to including him in our
breeding programme.
By
careful breeding we aim to continue to improve the
quality of the fleece of our herd. Our
intention is to specialise in black alpacas but we also have brown,
fawn and
white within our herd. Within the next
year we hope to have a range of Woodbine Farm Alpaca fleece products on
sale. All of our
Alpacas are registered
with the British
Alpaca Society.
